The IRS has finally issued interim guidance on the “nonprofit parking tax,” the new tax on the cost of parking provided by nonprofit employers to their employees. The new tax was included by Congress in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and is effective for 2018. The new guidance describes how the IRS will apply the new tax - and thankfully, many nonprofit organizations will be excluded from its coverage.
