New Hope Community Ministries

Ministry Description
New Hope Community Ministries exists to share the love and hope of Jesus Christ by walking alongside families in northern New Jersey facing economic hardship and systemic barriers. Our mission is to empower individuals and families to break the cycle of poverty through compassionate, holistic support that addresses spiritual, relational, physical, and emotional needs.

Founded in 2005, New Hope serves Prospect Park, Haledon, and the surrounding areas through five core pillars of ministry:

Feeding Families through our Community Pantry, Emergency Food Bags, and The Harvest Buying Club, helping to meet immediate nutritional needs while promoting dignity and choice.

Mental Health & Wellness by providing affordable, bilingual, Christian counseling and trauma-informed care to help individuals and families heal and grow.

Youth and Child Development by offering safe, engaging spaces for children and teens to learn, lead, and belong through mentoring, life skills development, discipleship, and enrichment activities.

Naturalization & Integration by supporting newcomer families with ESL classes, immigration assistance, and relationship-building programs to foster belonging and community.

Family Empowerment through practical programs like Women of Hope, seasonal Marketplaces, and connection to vital resources to strengthen families and caregivers.

At the heart of every program is our desire to reflect Christ’s compassion, serve with integrity, and create lasting transformation through relationship-based ministry. As a local expression of the body of Christ, we work in partnership with churches, volunteers, donors, and community organizations to extend the hope of the Gospel.

New Hope Community Ministries is a proud member of ECFA and is committed to faithful stewardship, ethical fundraising, and the highest standards of financial accountability.
