SafeHouse Outreach

Ministry Description
SafeHouse Outreach’s mission is to restore lives experiencing extreme poverty to independent living through
faith, love, and compassionate service. We combine a pastoral ministry open to serving the least of these with
a results-oriented approach of helping those desiring transformation.
Through years of continuous community service, SHO has developed a deep understanding of the evolving needs of individuals and families experiencing homelessness, along with a strong commitment to serving them with compassion. Our programs have been thoughtfully refined based on insights gained from working with thousands of clients. We take pride in offering a “hand-up,” not just a handout, empowering individuals toward long-term stability and self-sufficiency.
In 2025, SHO became a Coordinated Access Point for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the City of Atlanta, further strengthening our role in connecting clients to critical housing resources. Additional programming includes:
• Impact Meals – Provides daily meals to individuals and serves as an essential first step in building trust and developing meaningful relationships with clients.
• Problem Solvers Program – Focuses on building strong, trust-based relationships with clients while addressing immediate and essential needs. Services include assistance with obtaining identification, access to mailbox services, and referrals to healthcare providers and other community-based resources.
• Outreach and Navigation – A dedicated street outreach team that responds to urgent needs across the City of Atlanta. This team assists individuals with overcoming barriers to housing, securing vital documents, and addressing encampment closures.
• Housing – Our Housing Department focuses on promoting self-sufficiency. Housing services support individuals through shelter referral, rapid rehousing, and rental assistance. The case managers work with client to help support their individual goals.
Career Development- The Work Ready Team promotes employment readiness through workshops, skill-building, and strategic employment partnerships. SHO’s career development program offers a comprehensive program to include job-readiness training, intensive case management, customized workshops, transitional and permanent supportive housing assistance and follow-up care.
