Potter's House is a Christian relief and development organization, to support efforts of the world's poor with special emphasis on Guatemala in partnership with Casa del Alfarero (Potter's House) located in zone three of Guatemala City. Our purpose is to love God, build His Kingdom and live for His Glory. We are convinced that God never intended His utmost creation to live in a dump - for us, that is not acceptable. We provide holistic opportunities by equipping the people to develop themselves and transform their lives, families and community. We do this through five programs: education, health, micro-enterprise, community support, and personal development. We are committed to being good stewards of funds, to carefully monitor programs and costs, and to use donations for their intended purposes.

Our Treasures...they are contemptuously called "Scavengers", because their work consists of scavenging through the filthy rubbish, collecting bits of plastic, cardboard, glass and metal - anything that could have value. Even though they live, work and often find their food in the garbage, they are not trash. They are human beings with value and dignity. To God and to us, they are Treasures. They are determined, hard-working people. Join us to offer life beyond the Guatemala City garbage dump.
Thousands of children lack a personal relationship with Jesus. They need to know that in Him there is love and hope that will replace pain, desperation and misery. Your gift will allow one child to receive the good news of salvation.
Without proper nutrition the children cannot concentrate on their studies or maintain good health. The lunch they receive at Potter's House is the only real meal most of our children eat all day. If their parents are able to provide anything, usually it is either food scavenged from the dump or plain tortillas with salt. Your gift will feed hungry children for a month.
Help us change bad self-images and lack of confidence by reinforcing teaching and improving study skills so children can stay in school and have a chance to dream and hope for a better future.
We are working hard to equip the children to develop themselves so they can participate in the solution of their personal, family and community problems. However there are times when families cannot help themselves and don't even have enough to feed their children. In such times of crisis, your gift will provide a bag of groceries that will feed a family of five for a week.
For the scavenger families, medical care and medications are luxuries they cannot afford. The families that come to our twice-weekly clinic at Potter’s House find excellent, loving and affordable medical care. Your gift will help us fund one clinic session for 15 patients with the staff and medicines needed.
