Sweet Sleep exists to demonstrate God's love and hope in Christ to the world's orphaned and vulnerable children, improving their quality of life. Sweet Sleep accomplishes this mission by focusing orphan care strategies on family preservation and indigenous adoption in Eastern Europe, and economic development in East Africa. Sweet Sleep has created cooperative business and savings groups called CO•OPs, where 10 to 12 widows, single mothers, and grandmothers are trained in business creation and development and microfinance. These groups are given startup capital for a market-based group business of their choosing, along with seed funding for an internal savings and loan association. The group businesses provide long-term sustainability, and the loans taken from the savings group allow women to start individual businesses that provide immediate sustainability. To date, 114 CO•OPs representing 1300+ households have been initiated, supporting nearly 7000 vulnerable Ugandan women and children. Additionally, 100% of the CO•OPs initiated since 2016 are still fully functional, with annual yields in excess of 300% growth. New to 2022, Sweet Sleep has introduced Water Projects as additional income generation opportunities. Qualified CO•OPs that have demonstrated a successful mastery of basic business principals, remain in good standing within their community, and demonstrate intentional discipleship efforts are given additional business training in cost analysis, budget building, and business development. Once they collectively save 50% of the total budget to construct a water collection cistern or water well, Sweet Sleep provides a grant of the other 50% of the budget toward the construction of the Water Project. Sweet Sleep's vision for 2023 and beyond is to replicate the CO•OP program in Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia and Nigeria. Additionally, Sweet Sleep is presently exploring medical missions opportunities let through short term mission teams. Sweet Sleep celebrates its 20th year of ministry in 2023! Initially founded to provide beds to orphans, Sweet Sleep continues to honor its founding mission through summer beds distributions conducted by volunteer teams and funded by the VBS missions offerings of domestic churches. To date, Sweet Sleep has given more than 32,000 beds children in Moldova, Haiti, Uganda, South Africa, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Russia, and the United States.

Can you provide for a pillow? What about a single bed? Maybe you could provide beds for a room full of children. Better still, can you provide beds for an entire orphanage? Consider how you can help bring sweet sleep to orphaned and abandoned children around the world: $3,000 fills one room in a Third-World orphanage; $250 provides one Sweet Sleep bed; $100 provides one new bed frame; $80 provides one mattress and cover; $50 provides one set of sheets and blanket; $20 provides one pillow!
