The foundation notes that it depreciates its buildings in conformity with applicable accounting standards. This represents an overall deficit in net assets, however the trustees believe the value of its buildings are equal to its original cost.

The main ministry of Barnabas Aid is to send financial support to projects which help Christians where they suffer discrimination, oppression, and persecution as a consequence of their faith. The projects aim to strengthen Christian individuals, churches and their commuities by providing material and spiritual support in response to needs identified by local Christian leaders. We seek to encourage and facilitate prayer by providing prayer information, requests and resoruces. This ministry makes known the plight of the persecuted Church, particularly in the Muslim world, by a variety of means, in order to educate Christians and others about the current situation and needs as well as the backround and causal factors.

The death toll in Turkey is already nearly 3,400 and in Syria more than 1,400 ? and likely to rise. Thousands of buildings are destroyed, it is bitterly cold with snow on the ground, and the needs are enormous. Tents, blankets, clothes, drinking water and hot food are some of the most urgent.
