With the cost of adoption ranging between $25,000 and $50,000, the financial barrier that exists within adoption is real. But there is hope and help. Show Hope’s Adoption Aid grants are the cornerstone of our work and the original version of our Founders. Our grants help break down that financial barrier and have been a part of helping more than 7,900 children come home to the love and permanency of a family.
Show Hope’s annual Hope for the Journey Conference aims to shepherd families impacted by adoption and/or foster care to a deeper understanding of their children’s needs. By introducing resources and sharing experiences of everyday successes and failures, it is our prayer that parents and caregivers will leave encouraged as they continue to journey with their children.
Many children who have been orphaned live with medical needs, with limited access to adequate healthcare. Once home in the permanency of a family, medical costs and access to treatment can be overwhelming for families. With expertise from nearly two decades of awarding Adoption Aid grants, Show Hope is now positioned well to offer Medical Care grants to financially assist families who have adopted children with medical needs.
The adoption journey doesn’t end the day a child is welcomed home; in fact, it is just beginning. Children impacted by adoption or foster care have often experienced early attachment injuries related to loss, abuse, trauma, and/or neglect, so their needs can be uniquely complex. Show Hope works to provide support in the form of practical, accessible resources that equip parents, caregivers, churches, and professionals to care well for the children entrusted to them.
Show Hope’s Student Initiatives work equips and mobilizes students to make a difference in the lives of children impacted by adoption and foster care. Students have the opportunity to participate in the Pause Campaign, a seven-day break from social media where they dive into devotional content, designed to educate them on the needs of orphans. Pause Campaign, then, mobilizes students to make an impact in the lives of waiting children.
