Four States Christian Missions, Inc. was founded in 1955 as a ministry to men who are damaged by alcohol and drugs, and are physically and spiritually weakened. Operating as The Hope Center at Hagerstown Rescue Mission, our purpose is to feed, clothe, and house these men while providing for their spiritual needs as well. The ministry has grown into a multi-faceted work with outreaches to women, families, and children, a summer day camp, concerts, and a ladies' Bible study, and seven other ministries being started.

The Hope Center at Hagerstown Rescue Mission provides up to 30 consecutive nights of overnight shelter to transient men who are homeless and would otherwise be living on the streets or in the woods. Each guest is given a personal care package containing enough personal hygiene products to last thirty days. A change of clothing is also made available if needed. A hot meal is provided following the evening chapel service. Participants are encouraged to join a program with steps to life recovery.
