Ministry Description

Global Scholars equips Christian professors to have a redemptive influence among their students, colleagues, universities, and academic disciplines. Our vision is that one day every student, university, and discipline will have Christian professors who communicate the truth, goodness, and beauty of Christ. Ministering to professors in secular colleges and universities, we offer a full slate of programs proven to be effective in developing Christian scholars to be Christ’s ambassadors, including mentoring, webinars, research databases, and editorial services. We have equipped professors in 92 nations, many of which are closed to traditional missionaries. Global Scholars started in 1986 as a sending agency for missional Christian academics. In 2019, we launched the Society of Christian Scholars to engage more professors, including indigenous Christian academics. In the 2021-2022 fiscal year, we equipped 532 professors in 68 countries and in 28 disciplines.

Global Scholars is the only organization solely focused on placing Christians with terminal degrees in teaching positions overseas. Future world leaders are coming to know Christ as they are taught from a Christian worldview. Currently, Global Scholars has more than 65 Christian professors teaching at secular universities in 27 nations overseas. Scores of universities are asking us for more professors in all fields. More than 60 Global Scholars’ professors are teaching at secular universities in 27 nations around the world. Although most universities provide some housing and an office, most professors must raise support for living expenses just like other missionaries. These professors need your help. Several Global Scholars professors teach the Bible and Christian doctrine as faculty at secular universities in countries often closed to Christianity. More than 40 Chinese universities have religion and/or Christian studies programs. Universities in Vietnam, Lithuania, Central Europe and Nigeria have also asked for Christian studies professors.
