Temporarily Restricted Gift

A temporarily restricted gift is a gift that is giver-restricted for a stated period of time or until a stated event has occurred. The stated event must be more specific than the broad limits imposed by the ministry’s purpose or nature. If the stated period of time or stated event has not occurred, a temporarily restricted gift is reflected as a temporarily restricted net asset on the ministry’s statement of financial position.
