Ministry Description
Lifewater, a volunteer-based organization, has over 200 volunteers including well-drillers, hydrogeologists, engineers, health workers and business people. Lifewater's trained volunteers travel to developing countries to train nationals to improve local drinking water supplies and teach related health issues. National crews continue working and training others after volunteers return home. They share the gospel message of "Living Water" with the villagers as they help break the cycle of disease and poverty. Lifewater has participated in water projects in more than fifty countries on five continents and their volunteers and national crews have installed or repaired thousands of village water wells.

ServantMatch®
Lifewater and our in-country partner are bringing WASH to schools. The project will improve conditions in Oromiya through the following activities: Construct 30 wells in schools and local communities; Cap 23 fresh-water springs; Repair at least 11 damaged water supply points in schools and local communities; Construct reservoirs for 4 schools; Promote latrine construction in 40 local communities; Provide WASH training to 6,000 community members. $50,000 is still needed to complete the project.
Support the work of Lifewater to bring safe water, adequate sanitation, hygiene education, and the Good News of Christ to those in need. Support through this stewardship opportunity goes where the need is greatest at the time of donation.
Lifewater's initiative in Ogur and Abako implements innovative strategies to meet the unique challenges of the region. One of these strategies is engaging and empowering war-weary young men through soccer training and tournaments. A requirement for participation in the soccer program is practicing good hygiene. Gradually, these young men are becoming WASH promoters and models of change for healthy, life-saving behaviors in their communities.
