Ministry Description
Over 30 years ago, in the Dominican Republic, Plant With Purpose first saw how environmental degradation and extreme poverty form a vicious cycle, robbing the rural poor of opportunity and hope. Deforestation destroys the most important assets of rural farmers: their soil and water. In turn, desperation drives people to use the forest in an unsustainable way. Addressing both deforestation and poverty together can create a virtuous cycle. Motivated by the love of Jesus, Plant With Purpose works to get at the roots of rural poverty through an integrated, three-part approach-environmental, economic, and spiritual. Thanks to an amazing multi-national partnership consisting of donors, development professionals, and local community members, over 18,000 families in 330 communities in 6 countries are experiencing transformation.

ServantMatch®
About 70% of the world's poor are rural families who depend on agriculture to survive, but the land isn't producing enough. Plant With Purpose partners with smallholder farmers in six countries to transform lives. Agriculture training and reforestation improve crop productivity for food security and higher incomes; sustainable savings-led microfinance empowers participants to maximize their own resources; and church mobilization programs equip congregations to lead community development efforts.
