Ministry Description
Handi*Vangelism Ministries International (H*VMI) is a ministry of compassion. H*VMI exists to show that Christ can redeem, restore, comfort, and give direction and hope. H*VMI reaches out to people with disabilities and their families, to grieving parents and children, to those struggling with mental illness, to the abused, and to senior citizens. Through camping ministry and support groups they share Christ's compassion by walking alongside individuals facing life's challenges while equipping others to do the same. They serve in the US and Ghana, West Africa. They started in 1973 within another organization and launched a 501(c)(3) in 2004.

Ministering to parents who have experienced the loss of a child. The death of a child is like no other loss. The grief is profound and deep. Our BASIS staff, including some who have personally experienced this grief journey, is willing to walk alongside and help "bear the burden" of grieving parents who have lost a child for any reason, whether that child is not yet born, stillborn, a baby, a toddler, a teen or an adult.
H*VMI exists to share the compassion of Christ by walking alongside individuals facing life's challenges and equipping others to do the same.
Equipping the local church, colleges and universities, mission organizations and others who desire training in order to learn how to meet the needs of people with disabilities and their families.
Through one-on-one visitation, email devotionals and group Bible study/Bible club programs, the Discipleship team teaches Truth from God's Word on a variety of levels appropriate to individuals with physical or intellectual disabilities. Twilight Senior Ministries especially focuses on meeting the needs of Seniors living alone or in nursing homes.
Offering a variety of overnight camping programs designed for children and adults affected by physical and/or intellectual disabilities. Our summer sessions provide parents and caregivers with a much needed break from daily care routines.
Equipping national workers and foreign missionaries in areas of compassion ministry.
Helping people renew their minds in God's Word, with spiritual support and encouragement for people addressing mental health issues personally or with a loved one.
Providing monthly support groups, newsletters and special events for parents of children (of any age) affected by disability.
REST Ministries makes God real by facilitating restoration to the hurting, abused and addicted, whether in the church or on the street. Help us provide support for the community and equip the church through workshops and resources designed to facilitate help to hurting people. Your donations make a difference.
