Ministry Description
Mission Emanuel is a partnering ministry in the Dominican Republic centered on transforming a community through the power of Jesus Christ. Between two campuses on the outskirts of Santo Domingo, the mission supports two churches (Dominican and Haitian); supports approximately 600 students in our two schools and beyond; a Medical Center including Pediatric care, Dental care and Physical Therapy; a water filtration and distribution plant; a wheelchair factory and distribution center; and a Women's Co-op job skills training program.

Access to clean water is crucial for communities in the Dominican Republic. In 2007, approximately 80% of the cases in our clinic were due to water-related illnesses. This began our pursuit to provide affordable, clean water to our neighbors! Provisión del Cielo, (Heaven’s Provision) cleans and refills up to 2,000 5-gallon bottles a day. Reaching over 60,000 people, we have reduced water-borne illness in the area by 70%. It’s an ongoing battle, but one that can be won with your help!
Mission Emanuel seeks to improve the health outcomes of the local communities by providing low-cost, quality medical and dental care and access to essential medicines and clean drinking water. Mission Emanuel is the only medical provider in the local area, and provides care for vulnerable populations, who do not have access to care elsewhere, including immigrants, women, and children with physical disabilities.
