Ministry Description
After strengthening the Church in Eastern Europe during 19 years of Communist restrictions, NHI began to develop national ministries in 1990 as soon as freedom was restored. Functioning under National Boards of Directors, the ministries in each country are known as "New Hope" and staffed by its 100 national workers. With a focus on children, youth and family, the ministries publish and train for effective ministry of workers within the Churches. It also helps the Churches to have an outreach, especially in the public schools of their country. In partnership, NHI provides training teams, short term missionaries, financial help and accountability.

ServantMatch™
The Bible is taught in 36 monthly lessons over a 3-year period by mail to Ukrainian youth, mainly 10-16 years old. Many unchurched, young people with no access to evangelical churches are reached. 15,894 children are enrolled. As a result, hundreds of youth have received Christ and several new churches have been planted.
The need is great! Doors and hearts are open as never before to hear God's message about new life through Jesus Christ. Help New Hope bring God's Word to children, youth and young adults through Public School ministry, youth clubs, orphan care, Christian publications, Christian marriage seminars, leadership training and more.
New Hope is one of the largest publishers of Christian youth and children's books in Eastern Europe, primarily Romania, Hungary and Ukraine. We reach not only Christian audiences, but also secular markets as well. 23,604 copies of book and youth devotionals were published and distributed in 2007. Titles from authors like Bill Hybles, James Dobson, Josh McDowell, Philip Yancey and many more have been translated and sold to a growing audience.
Evangelistic outreach to public school students in Ukraine, Moldova, Czech Republic and elsewhere to bring the Christian worldview into classrooms and after school clubs. 33,612 kids were reached through classroom lectures in 2007. Also thousands participated in after school clubs, concerts and other outreach events.
Six countries hosted 53 camps and VBS' during the summer. Some were one day or weekend retreats for couples or college students; others were 7-10 days for kids, families and teens. 3,764 attended these events with at least 566 committing to Christ and seeking follow-up discipleship at local churches.
