Neema House was established in 2012 in Arusha, Tanzania as a baby rescue center for abandoned, orphaned and at-risk infants. As of Oct 2018, 195 babies have been saved, 35 have been adopted, and 33 have returned to a family member. In 2017, it became Neema Village as it became obvious that women also needed help. Recognizing the need for gender equality, single mothers and widows are now offered a training program called MAP (Mothers Against Poverty) whereby they can become self sufficient through entrepreneurial training and grants to help them establish their own businesses.

More than a hundred babies have been rescued and found a new family at Neema. We offer programs designed to help women better care for their babies, survive childbirth, find ways to supplement the family income, have better nutrition, lift widows from lives of neglect and abuse and impact the surrounding Maasai villages through water wells and medical care. Join us to make real and lasting change in Africa!
