Mission
Bridge Builders for Kids is a Christ-centered ministry whose sole focus is children of prisoners. With 1 in 99 Americans now behind bars there are millions of children being left behind when their parent goes to prison. Unfortunately, these children are seven times more likely to becoming our next generation of inmates. Our vision and mission is to prevent second-generational incarceration by connecting children of prisoners and their families to a Christian network that will inspire them to live up to their God-given potential as members of society. Children are served through a Christ-centered one-to-one mentoring program as well as through a variety of other relationship-building activities. We are taking a proactive approach by reaching out to these at-risk children when they are between the ages of 5 and 10 years old, BEFORE they begin walking down a destructive path. Our service areas currently include the Twin Cities and Rochester areas in Minnesota.
