Dan Busby, President
Dan Busby is the president of ECFA, an organization that accredits Christ-centered ministries in the areas of governance, financial management and stewardship/fundraising. ECFA’s seal enhances trust of givers, which increases generosity, providing greater resources to help fulfill the Great Commission. ECFA accredits over 2,100 churches and nonprofits. These organizations have annual revenue in excess of $27 billion.
Dan has over 40 years of experience serving the Christ-centered church and nonprofit community and frequently speaks nationally on related issues. He is a prolific writer with 56 volumes of five book titles published, including a projected 2017 release, Lessons from the Boardroom, co-authored by John Pearson.
Dan received a Master of Business Administration degree from Emporia State University, Emporia Kansas. The University also named him as a Distinguished Alumnus in 2014.
Dan served as a member of the Commission on Accountability and Policy for Religious Organizations, a national legislative advisory commission convened to address legislative proposals for the nonprofit sector.
Nonprofit Times named him as one of the 50 Most Powerful Nonprofit Leaders from 2010-2015.
John Van Drunen, Executive Vice President and General Counsel
John Van Drunen is ECFA's executive vice president and general counsel with a bachelor of arts in accounting, magna cum laude, from Anderson University and a juris doctor from Regent University School of Law. His responsibilities at ECFA primarily relate to managing the compliance program and writing and speaking on technical nonprofit issues.
John has received many awards, including Virginia Bar Association recognition for pro bono work during his tenure as a law student. This work included working with nonprofit organizations and assisting low-income individuals with preparing taxes.
Beginning with the 2010 edition, John co-authored the Zondervan Minister’s Tax & Financial Guide and the Zondervan Church and Nonprofit Tax & Financial Guide with ECFA President, Dan Busby, and Michael Martin, ECFA Vice President and legal counsel.
Vonna Laue, Executive Vice President
Vonna serves as an executive vice president at ECFA. Before coming to ECFA, Vonna spent 20 years, most recently as a managing partner, with a national public accounting firm specializing in service to Christian ministries in the areas of audit and consulting. There she served in organizational leadership as well as providing services to meet clients’ various needs.
Vonna earned her B.S. degree from Black Hills State University and her MBA degree in Leadership and Human Resource Management from the University of Colorado. She has served local organizations in a variety of positions, and has published articles in national church business administration publications as well as co-authored the book, Essential Guide to Church Finance. In 2010, Vonna was inducted into the Church Management Hall of Fame. Her speaking experience includes a variety of regional and national conferences.
Kim Sandretzky, Vice President of Communications
Kim Sandretzky is ECFA’s vice president of communications. She has been serving ECFA in a wide range of responsibilities since 2008, managing special projects in the area of communications.
Kim leads a team who is responsible for communicating to help expand public awareness of ECFA member accreditation through advertising and the member profile on the ECFA website. She assisted in getting the ServantMatch program off the ground and continues to promote the member donor projects through the ServantMatch program.
Prior to joining ECFA, Kim and her family were church planters in the country of Hungary. They continue to promote church plants in the U.S. and have a passion for reaching the next generation for Christ.
Michael Martin, Vice President and Legal Counsel
Michael Martin is ECFA’s vice president of church relations. He enjoys helping churches and ministries maintain high standards of financial integrity through ECFA membership. Michael also uses his training as an attorney and CPA to contribute to ECFA’s many practical educational resources, including books, webinars, videos, podcasts, and more.
Beginning with the 2013 edition, Michael co-authored the Zondervan Minister’s Tax & Financial Guide and the Zondervan Church and Nonprofit Tax & Financial Guide.
