The House Ways and Means Committee has released a bill package that would redesign the IRS with the goal of improving IRS operations and tax administration.
Committee chairman Kevin Brady stated, “We are taking a monumental step in redesigning the IRS for the first time in 20 years, refocusing the agency to live up to its mission of quality service, and reining in its enforcement powers to prevent future abuse.”
ECFA will continue to monitor and report on the progress of the legislation.
