ECFA Annual Membership Renewal Process

Compliance with ECFA's Seven Standards of Responsible Stewardship™ is a fundamental part of ECFA's mission. This compliance is accomplished through the Annual Membership Renewal and the on-site field review program. Members are subject to the both the Annual Membership Renewal and the on-site field review program. ECFA also processes and follows-up on complaints and inquiries filed with ECFA concerning its members.

  • ECFA conducts randomly selected, on-site field reviews at approximately 15% of its members each year. On-site field reviews allow an ECFA representative an opportunity to meet personally with member organizations, learn more about their ministries, and review their compliance with ECFA's Seven Standards of Responsible Stewardship™. The field review program focuses on an organization’s financial accountability, board governance, and fundraising practices.
  • Additionally, all members must annually reapply to continue membership by completing an Annual Membership Renewal form. Failure to successfully complete the renewal form and provide supporting documentation in a timely manner jeopardizes membership.
