Why Churches Should Join ECFA

Welcome, Churches!

ECFA is a growing accreditation agency for Christ-centered organizations including churches. ECFA also provides excellent seminars, information and commentary on our Seven Standards of Responsible StewardshipTM, which are great tools for churches. Membership in ECFA is an important way that churches can become better stewards and lead with integrity.

The ECFA seal identifies churches (and other nonprofits) as organizations that subscribe to the idea of continuous improvement in governance, financial accountability, principles of fund-raising and transparency. Our seminars, articles on best practices and informational booklets are tailored to address your unique situation and particular ministry.

Unfortunately, some churches have been featured in newspapers and on TV regarding a scandal—typically due to a disconnect between what they say and what they do. This injures the reputation of the Body of Christ as 1 Corinthians 12:26 states, "And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored all the members rejoice with it."

We celebrate the diversity of ECFA members. Churches, religious broadcasters, rescue missions, colleges and universities, missionary organizations, youth and teen centers, adoption groups, family ministries, rehabilitation centers and small inner-city missions to large evangelical associations are just some of the organizations that make up the ECFA.

We have a growing number of churches that are joining ECFA. All understand that integrity starts in the Body of Christ and the ECFA standards are excellent principles for every church.

There are lots of opportunities on our website to find out more about membership as well as to complete our membership application. Give us a call if you have questions. We love to help!
